Agroforestry project begins in Benin

The Impact Cluster agroforestry project in Benin has officially kicked off.

The pineapple sector has been under pressure from soil degradation and increasingly extreme weather. Together with our partners Tradin Organic, ECOTOP, Jus Delice and RePab – supported by Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) – Skilled is facilitating the introduction of dynamic agroforestry to help farmers rebuild soil fertility, diversify their fields and strengthen their livelihoods.

EcoTop was on the ground to design pilot plots and run the first workshop. Demo plots will be planted in July, and the project will support 1,500 farmers over the next four years.
