Stronger partnerships, more resilient food systems
At the World Food Day event in The Hague, SkillEd presented the NL AgriDigitalHub, a joint initiative we are developing with our partner SmartFarming. The Hub aims to connect Dutch and local digital agriculture companies, development organisations, governments and researchers, making proven digital solutions easier to find and integrate into food-system programmes.
The pitch competition featured many promising ideas. Congratulations to Yasmine Azafzaf and Misha Vu on their win! Their Ironbloom project addresses iron deficiency among women in Vietnam while aiming to improve livelihoods for women working in seaweed production.
The event – held under the motto “Innovation Today. Nourish Tomorrow.” – offered also plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas and connect with existing and potential partners. Workshops explored topics including saline agriculture and transforming vegetable markets.
One message stood out: building more resilient food systems and responding to the effects of climate change requires greater collaboration between international partners and across the food value chain.
We’re taking home new connections, fresh perspectives and ideas to build on.
