Building skills for a salinity‑resilient delta

Salinity is one of the biggest future threats to global food security and the livelihoods of farmers. One of the places already feeling the impact today is the Mekong Delta. A recent article published by the Netherlands Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality highlights how Vietnam and the Netherlands have been working together to strengthen salt‑resilient horticulture in this vital region.

The initiative brought together research, technology and practical training to help growers adapt to rising salinity levels. It’s a powerful example of how international cooperation can support local innovation and long‑term sustainability.

At SkillEd, we’re proud to have contributed to this project. Our team has been active in the Mekong Delta for many years, working with regional and international partners to strengthen skills development, digital learning, and practical training pathways that help farmers adapt to changing conditions.
