Literacy for a World in Transition

On International Literacy Day, we’re reminded that literacy is still out of reach for far too many – and that it plays a crucial role in building peace and sustainability in a world undergoing rapid change. UNESCO reports that more than 770 million adults worldwide cannot read or write – a reality that shapes how we design learning at SkillEd.

In some of the communities we work with, literacy barriers and limited connectivity overlap. That’s why we focus on intuitive, offline‑friendly digital learning that works even for people who have never used an app before.

Together with our partners, we adapt course materials into videos and audio explanations, making learning accessible for everyone – including adults with limited literacy skills – and supporting more resilient, inclusive learning environments.
