New course: Tackling salinization in the Netherlands

Dutch farmers and agricultural professionals: here’s a new course to help tackle salinization. Lower yields, stressed crops, weakened soils – these are real challenges, but there are practical ways to recognize them, measure them, and adapt farming practices.

SkillEd and Talentoogst (the lifelong training provider for workers and employers in Dutch agriculture) are launching “Verzilting – wat is het en hoe ermee om te gaan” (“Salinization – what it is and how to deal with it.”)

Training starts in February 2026 – applications are open until January 5th.  If you are eligible for subsidy through Talentoogst, 85% of the fee is covered.

And we’re scaling up: In collaboration with SALTA (Saline Agriculture Training Alliance), NFP (Netherlands Food Partnership), and NWP (Netherlands Water Partnership) – with SkillEd contributing as an active member of SALTA – we are developing a multi‑country training program on saline agriculture and improved freshwater management.
