Saxion University for Applied Science
Saxion University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest institutions of higher education in the Netherlands, with close to 27,000 students across its campuses in Enschede, Deventer, and Apeldoorn. With roots dating back to 1875 and its present form established in 1998 through the merger of Hogeschool Enschede and Hogeschool IJselland, Saxion has built a strong reputation as a centre of expertise at regional, national, and international levels.
Together with Saxion, SkillEd is part of “Water voor het Oosten” (Water in the East) – a regional initiative launched in late 2025 with vocational schools and companies to develop sustainable water management solutions and provide practical skills in the eastern Netherlands.
