Agroforestry Project in Sierra Leone

We are delighted to introduce our latest initiative: Dynamic Agroforestry for Resilience and Prosperity – a multi-year project running from October 2025 to September 2029 across Kono, Kenema, Kailahun, Bo, and Tonkolili Districts in Sierra Leone.

Together with Organic Development Services B.V., Tradin Organic, Tradin Sierra Leone Ltd., TRADIN ORGANIC AGRICULTURE BV, Ecotop and ChildFund International in Sierra Leone, we’re working to scale climate-resilient cocoa agroforestry systems that improve farmer income, biodiversity, and long-term sustainability.

SkillEd will lead the development of a blended learning platform to train farmers, youth work gangs, and field officers in Dynamic Agroforestry (DAF) – a regenerative approach that combines cocoa with diverse, ecologically sound crops.

Why Sierra Leone? Agriculture employs over 60% of the population; yet, smallholder farmers face significant challenges, including low productivity, deforestation, and climate vulnerability. This project brings practical, low-cost solutions to rural communities – and opens new opportunities for women and youth.

We’re looking forward to building skills that grow futures.
