BUCRA kick-off in Qahbunah

We celebrated the official and successful launch of the RVO-funded project BUCRA (Building Unity for Climate Resilient Agriculture) project in Egypt, working with valued partners: NABC, Delphy, Witteveen+Bos, SkillEd, Futurewater, Sanable, Mozare3, and Buzoor.

In Qahbunah, an agricultural community in Egypt’s Nile Delta, local farmers face challenges such as water scarcity, climate change and land fragmentation that require innovative approaches to sustain their livelihoods.

To effectively initiate the project and ensure it aligns with community goals, we conducted field visits to the planned demonstration farm and spoke with smallholder farmers.

A productive stakeholder meeting brought together government representatives, non-governmental organizations, businesses and multilateral organizations – this collaboration will drive sustainable development in the region.

Finally, we participated in a concluding workshop with the Dutch Embassy and other key parties to consolidate our findings and outline the next steps for the BUCRA project.
